  • What is your capacity?

    We have capacity for 250 indoors and 1,000 outdoors.

    Is there disabled access?

    We are able to offer disabled access to our ground floor event space and garden. We also have both men and female disabled toilets in the garden.

    What parking is there on site?

    We have plenty of parking situated in the fields on either side of the castle that is available for guests and vendors to use.

  • Is there a church onsite?

    The Parish Church of the Assumption is a beautiful church down the road in the village of Mgarr.

    Can you have ceremonies on site?

    Yes, we offer both indoor and outdoor locations.

    What does my Wedding Specialist do?

    The fabulous team at Castello Zamittello are here to ensure a smooth journey from viewing, booking and right through to your event. They are there to offer any guidance and support you through the process.

    What does the Venue Manager do?

    The Venue Manager is there to work closely with the suppliers, caterers and production team to oversee your event from start to finish and assist with any venue related queries.

    Can I hire a Wedding planner?

    Of course, we do work with a lot of wedding planners and have great connections if you would like any recommendations.

  • Can I have confetti?

    We do allow real dried flowers, however should you wish to have confetti there will be a cleaning fee of €100+Vat. Bubbles, streamers or sparkles are a lovely alternative.

    Can I have fireworks?

    Malta is famous for their fireworks so of course they are allowed but they must be booked through our preferred suppler and set off from the roof. A venue fee of €100+vat will incur. They must be requested at least one month in advance.

    Are candles allowed?

    We do allow real flame candles on site, however the flame must be contained within a tall holder. For example a lantern or hurricane glass.

    Are we allowed pyrotechnics ?

    We do allow pyrotechnics outdoors but they are not allowed indoors. Should you wish to have these, we ask that you request them in advance, at least one month before the wedding.

    Can I use a drone?

    Aerial drone footage looks spectacular, so of course we permit this on site - as long as the pilot has the appropriate documentation. We would encourage you to book a professional videographer to capture drone imagery and footage on the day. However, if you would like to bring a personal drone, we need to request this in advance.

    Can I choose an external caterer?

    Castello Zamittello has hand selected the finest caterers to ensure that your event is a success. We are confident you will find the perfect fit and therefore, do not allow anyone not on our list to cater at Castello Zamittello.

    Can I bring my own alcohol?

    Yes you can but we recommend using the caterers for glassware, staff and garnishing. Each caterer offers different service packages so its best to speak directly to your choses caterer for your bar options.

    How do I book suppliers?

    If you are booking on a Dry Hire basis, you will need to contact each supplier directly for quotes and availability. We request that you choose a caterer and fireworks supplier from our preferred supplier list. All additional suppliers, however are you choice.

    Can we bring our dog to our wedding?

    We love dogs and we are excited to offer to allow for your dog to attend your wedding ceremony and drinks reception. Kindly note that dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

    I have more than one dog. Can they all come?

    If you think your dog will be comfortable with a large group of people, and can be looked after for the day, then they are welcome to come. If you have more than three dogs, please do chat to us about it.

    Can my guests bring their dogs to the wedding?

    Whilst we love dogs of all varieties, we don’t want anything to get in the way of your special day, and too many dogs could introduce an element of chaos! With this in mind we restrict the dogs invited to those that belong to the wedding couple only.

  • When will the accommodation be available?

    We are in the process of refurbishing our bedrooms and they are due to ready early next year.

    Is the accommodation included in the hire cost?

    No, the accommodation is an optional add on.

    Where can additional guests stay overnight?

    We have our beautiful sister property Domus Zamittello situated in Valletta that has 21 bedrooms. We would be happy to honour you and your guests a preferential rate when booking for your wedding.

    Can we stay the night before our wedding?

    If you wish to stay at Castello Zamittello you would need to hire it for an additional day, alternatively we can offer you preferential rate at our sister property Domus Zamittello.

  • What is included when I book Castello Zamittello for a wedding?

    You have exclusive use of the indoor and outdoor event spaces for the duration of the event. You will also have use of our furniture, tables and chairs and a dedicated Wedding specialist throughout your journey, plus Venue Manager support on your wedding day.

    How can I place a date on hold?

    After viewing Castello Zamittello (either in person, show around or virtual tour), you will have the opportunity to place your preferred available event day on a provisional hold. We will hold this date complimentary for seven days, after which we will touch base to see if you would like to proceed with the booking.

    How will I receive my contract?

    The contract with the terms and conditions will be sent to you electronically. Once the contract has been signed by the first person, it will automatically forward to the second. Once all parties have signed the contract, our Managing Director will countersign it and you will receive a fully-signed electronic copy. Please check your junk and clutter folders to ensure you have received the contract.

    How do I pay my deposit?

    The deposit will be sent along with the contract and has all of our bank details listed at the bottom. Our preferred method of payment is via bank transfer.

    If I book a dry hire can I then change to one of your wedding packages?

    It is possible to change your booking from dry hire to a package. We just ask that you give us plenty of notice for this.

    Can we hire the house for multiple days?

    Of course, you can hire the house for multiple days. Please speak to your wedding specialist for options, ideas and your 10% multi-day discount on the dry hire of the house.

    Is furniture, cutlery and linen included in the price?

    All the furniture you see at Castello Zamittello is included in the price. Cutlery, crockery, glassware and table linen will need to be provided by your chosen caterer.

    Can I add options like fireworks or late extension onto my booking?

    We are happy to add additional products to your booking but please let us know as soon as possible or at the latest, one month before your booking so we can accommodate.
